Saudi Arabia and UK Minsters meet to discuss bilateral cooperation



Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Services His Excellency Eng. Saleh Al Jasser met with the United Kingdom Minister of Transport Mr. Mark Harper on the 2nd of November in London with the aim to foster deeper collaboration and innovation in the maritime sector, which will contribute to the modernisation efforts of both sides.


The meeting signifies a strong commitment between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom to drive forward relations in the maritime industry, and build on cooperation within the IMO. The meeting covered several key issues and focused on the advancement of modern transportation methods and technologies. During the meeting the Ministers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in relation to the transportation sector.


The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to building the country into a global logistics hub though collaboration. This is driven by the ambitious Vision 2030 plans which see the country using key initiatives to develop the maritime industry while also preserving the natural marine environment.


The two countries have pledged to exchange support and expertise as well as discuss policies and legislation. This demonstrates the two countries willingness to work together through bilateral cooperation. Building on this cooperation is key to the Kingdoms focus within the IMO and beyond.
