Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bahri Shipping company bolsters shipping connectivity as reflected in second quarter of 2024



The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia national shipping company, Bahri, has bolstered shipping connectivity as reflected in the financial results for the second quarter of 2024. This announcement is in line with the continuous efforts of the Kingdom in achieving Vision 2030, to capitalise on its natural strategic location. Bahri’s achievement reflects the ongoing work to strengthen global partnerships and logistics worldwide.


Bahri has an international profile and growing partnerships which is further enhanced within the International Maritime Organization. The company currently operates a fleet of 88 vessels with 6 vessels under a lease contract, and one floating desalination barge as of 2024. Bahri has been pushing forward key strategic initiatives consistently to improve the sector. The shipping company recently began operations on of its first mobile seawater desalination plant, recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest of its kind. The plant is stationed off the coast of Yanbu and has the capacity of 50 million litres per day of potable water. Two additional plants are scheduled for operation for later this year.
