Saudi Arabia's MAWANI and MSC Introduces New Service to Boost Saudi Far-East Port Connectivity

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ports Authority, Mawani, announced that the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has launched a new service titled 'Clanga' in the Kingdom. This service is designed to link King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam with multiple ports in Singapore and China through weekly voyages.

The service will bolster trade connectivity between the Kingdom and Far East ports such as Singapore and China's Ningbo, Shanghai, and Shekou, enabling the country to expand its trade portfolio. This will enhance the global competitiveness of Saudi ports and invigorate national exports. The Kingdom is working to expand its maritime industry as part of its Vision 2030, aiming to become a global logistics hub.

The new service will connect directly to King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam and is set to facilitate regular weekly sailings, accommodating up to 15,000 standard containers. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is strategically positioned on the Red Sea, allowing it to connect to a large percentage of global shipping. The Kingdom is therefore committed to developing its ports to support the growth of trade and collaboration.

The launch of the Clanga service by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company marks a significant enhancement in trade connectivity between Saudi Arabia and key ports across the globe. The service will strengthen the competitiveness of King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam while also contributing to the Kingdom's broader economic goals of linking three continents through trade.
