Saudi Ministerial Delegation visit the United Kingdom’s National Maritime Operations Centre

On September 30th, a Delegation of senior Saudi transport representatives led by H.E. Minister of Transport & Logistics, Saleh Al Jasser, visited the United Kingdom’s National Maritime Operations Centre (NMOC) in Fareham, Hampshire.

NMOC is the central command of the UK’s Coastguard from where the initiation and coordination of civil maritime and aeronautical search and rescue operations are directed. In addition to ten Coastguard Operations Centres (CGOCs) located across the four regions of the UK, a fully integrated and flexible national network is formed.

The meeting facilitated a greater understanding of NMOC’s core mission and central objectives. Representatives from NMOC exhibited a range of technical presentations on areas including search & rescue procedures, pollution response, vessel traffic management and maritime security.

This informative meeting closed with a reaffirmation of a desire for future cooperation.
