The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by His Excellency Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistic Services signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr. Sun Feng, President of the Chinese Classification Society (CCS) on the 25th of September. This agreement regulates the authorization and provision of services of mandatory certificates for ships registered in the Kingdom.
Under the agreement, the Chinese Classification Society CCS will be responsible for the delegation and provision services, including classification inspection, surveys, and the issuance of mandatory certificate for Saudi Arabia’s registered ships, that ensure the compliance of vessels with international maritime safety standards.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi MOT and the Chinese CCS is in line with the Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to position the Kingdom as a prominent regional maritime hub. By investing in the development of the maritime sector, Saudi Arabia can expand its economic horizons and create new opportunities for trade, commerce and technological advancements.
Furthermore, this agreement establishes a mutually beneficial partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of China. It lays the groundwork for enhanced safety standards and operational efficiency in the Kingdom’s shipping sector, development in its maritime industry.
