It focuses on attracting local and international investment in the maritime and tourism sectors by highlighting the country's unique assets and rich cultural heritage. ‘More Than a Sea,’ supports four key pillars: attracting investments, regulatory development, promoting new Red Sea tourism experiences, and sustainability. Saudi Arabia is working to establish an economically robust and environmentally protected coastal tourism sector, and this new campaign showcases the Kingdom's efforts to achieve this goal.
"More Than a Sea" emphasizes the SRSA's regulatory responsibilities, which include creating policies, strategic plans, and more. This also includes the issuance of licenses and permits, as well as the infrastructure available for maritime activities. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys a strategic location on the Red Sea, an area renowned for its unmatched marine beauty and biodiversity. The sea is home to more than 1,000 islands, 150 beaches, and a vast array of diving and historical sites. With these unique features, the Saudi Red Sea Authority hopes to entice investors by highlighting the region's promising investment environment.
“More Than a Sea,” will ensure environmental protection by collaborating with the public and private entities through the development of mechanisms that ensure the protection of the marine environment. This includes protecting the essential resources in the Red Sea through producing nautical maps that define safe routes and protect coral reefs, managing marine waste, installing mooring buoys, and establishing weather monitoring stations. While promoting costal tourism activities such as cruise ships, yachts, diving, snorkelling, recreational fishing, boating and beach activities to enjoy the vast costal attractions of the Red Sea.
